In the old days tartans were dyed using available vegetable/wild plants as colourings

Now we are more sophisticated the dyes used to colour the tartan these days are commercially produced

Modern McLintock Tartan

One of the Septs of the Clan which has its own tartan. Although called Modern it is listed in the Tartan books as a Rare tartan.

There is also an Ancient McLintock, unfortunately the only picture I have does not replicate very well.
