(1) Clan Colquhoun Heritage and Visitor Centre

With new premises having now been identified for the opening of a new Clan Colquhoun Heritage and Visitor Centre an application for financial assistance has been submitted to a National organisation who on 17 February 2010 advised the following:

"Your application is scheduled to be considered at the meeting of the Trustees which will be held towards the end of March. However, before being considered by the Trustees, your request will be reviewed by our Assessment Team and, in the event of further information and/or a visit being required, you will be contacted. After the meeting of the Trustees, you will be informed in writing of their decision."

To date no further communication has been received from the Assessment Team. -

LATEST -  Unfortunately latest bid for funding unsuccessful. We now try elsewhere.

 

(2) Portrait Photographer

All Clan Chief and Colquhoun "notable" portraits are being upgraded for display in the new Clan Colquhoun Heritage and Visitor Centre. In addition to those currently on display in Rossdhu there are other Clan Chief portraits in storage at Camstraddan. These are due to be brought out of storage on or about 29 March 2010. The professional photographer has agreed to postpone his visit until early April when he can take all necessary photographs at both Rossdhu and Camstraddan on the same day.

LATEST - Completed at Rossdhu House. Due to unforeseen circumstances all portraits could not be photographed at Camstraddan House. Sir Malcolm making arrangements for photographer to finish the job soonest.

 

(3) Museum Consultant

Due to adverse weather conditions the meeting arranged with the Museum Consultant for 25 February 2010 had to be postponed. The meeting has been reschedule for 1230 on Wednesday 3 March 2010.

LATEST - Following successful negotiations between Rachel Hunter (museum consultant) and CCHS directors it has been agreed that a contract now be drawn up engaging Rachel Hunter to work with us on the Clan Colquhoun Heritage and Visitor Centre project. 

 

(4) Shore Cottage

Work on the upgrade of Shore Cottage (new venue for the Clan Heritage and Visitor Centre) is currently underway courtesy of Luss Estates.
